Riley Yesno
Riley Yesno is an organizer and researcher pursuing a PhD in Political Science and Indigenous Studies, focused on youth and social movements. Raised in Thunder Bay and active in organizing since her teens, she brings lived community experience to digital-safety education. Her sessions weave digital hygiene, ethical engagement, AI literacy, accessibility, and care into safer, more effective organizing.
This workshop builds digital confidence for people organizing in public life. We cover safer day-to-day habits on social media, how and when to use encrypted tools, and how to move from online planning to effective, lower-risk in-person actions. You’ll leave with clear checklists, role templates, and a resource pack you can share with your team.
Key ideas include: encryption for sensitive comms, digital hygiene routines, AI caveats in organizing, ethical accessibility online, and burnout prevention.
