Opportunity: Inform Canada’s GBV Awareness Campaign
Oct 6, 2022
We’re looking for Black, Indigenous, and racialized young women and gender diverse youth between the ages of 18 and 24 to share their understanding and experiences of gender-based violence in focus groups and surveys to support platforms research and the development of the Government of Canada’s GBV awareness campaign. The goal of the campaign is to increase knowledge, challenge attitudes, and change behaviours contributing to GBV among young people across what is currently known as Canada.
The Government of Canada is launching an awareness campaign focused on gender-based violence (GBV) for youth and young adults. Platform has partnered with the government to bring real insights, feedback, and perspective’s from young people to the forefront of the campaign, as well as in our own research, programming, and advocacy as an organization.
The goal of these consultations is to learn more about the current understanding and experiences of GBV among youth and identify any gaps, needs, motivators, and barriers to help develop campaign content as well as platform programming, research, and support related to GBV. The analysis of the experiences and recommendations during these consultations will be used to inform national awareness campaigns, programming, and research for all youth in Canada.
